Frequently Asked Questions

Don’t see your question here? Email contact@djryanstein.com or call (785) 416-1376. I’m happy to help.

How much does a wedding DJ cost?

My wedding package is $1295 and covers your cocktail hour, dinner and dance, with a wireless microphone, dance floor lighting, the online wedding planner and liability insurance. Ceremony audio is $500 more. See pricing for everything.

How do I book you?

Start with a video or in-person consultation using the Book a Consultation button. If we’re a good fit, I’ll send a contract, then an invoice for a 50% deposit to hold your date. The remaining balance is due one week before your event, which is also when final details are locked in.

How far in advance should we book?

As early as possible. Booking is first come, first served, so once you have a date, reach out to check availability.

Do you charge for travel?

Seventy miles of round-trip travel is included. Events more than 35 miles from Salina are charged $.67 per mile for the total round-trip mileage minus 70 miles. If the event needs travel past 2:00 AM, there’s a $200 overnight fee. Departure time is the end of the event plus 1 hour of breakdown. Just send me an email and I’ll give you an exact quote.

What areas do you serve?

I’m based in Salina and DJ all over central Kansas, including Abilene, McPherson, Lindsborg, Hutchinson, Junction City, Manhattan, Concordia, Ellsworth, Hays and Wichita.

Are you insured?

Yes. I’m fully insured, and liability insurance is included with every wedding and event package. If your venue needs a certificate of insurance, I can provide one on request.

Our ceremony is outdoors with no power. Can you still do it?

Yes. My ceremony setup can run entirely on battery, so you can say your vows wherever you want.

Can we choose the songs and tell you what not to play?

Absolutely. You’ll get access to my online wedding planner to pick must-play songs and special moments, and you can give me a do-not-play list of songs, artists or genres. I stick to it. We go over everything on a planning call 4–6 weeks before the wedding, and final details are locked in one week before.

How do guests get their photo booth pictures?

Photos are sent straight to guests by text, email or AirDrop, ready to share on social media. As the host, you get the full gallery as a digital download.

Do you DJ school dances?

Yes! Prom, homecoming and other school dances are some of my favorite events. See school dances for details.

Do you offer discounts on enhancements?

Yes. When you book me as your DJ, enhancements are bundled: pick 1 for $350, 2 for $595 (save $105), 3 for $840 (save $210) or all 4 for $1085 (save $315), from the photo booth, uplighting, cold sparks and CO2 cannon.
